A snapshot of public education in the future
Note to readers: This is just a placeholder for a topic I expect to write about at some length in the future.
While you’re waiting, I highly recommend this wonderful article by Katherine Martinko: 100 Practical Life Skills That Every 18-Year-Old Should Have. In my model for public education, it will be the role of schools — in partnership with families, peers, mentors and employers in the community — to make sure every young person enters the adult world with a lot less “book larnin’” and a whole lot more understanding of how to be a grownup. Had this been happening all along, we wouldn’t be in the political mess we are now.
